There are a few members on here who can mod engine covers if your not handy with a dremel or spanners (I dont have tools or dremel), I am going to see if someone will mod my engine cover for me, I just bought a spare from Ebay the other day (should arrive today or tomorrow) so that will get modded to allow for Intake system.
Your right not everyone can afford The VWR/ITG or Twintake, or perhaps not so much as can't afford it, but would rather be different or spend money on other things (Or perhaps dont like the look of a tube with filter on the end, or as I like to call it "Blue Peter toilet roll with Grannies Clunge Sponge stuck on the end", Evom's, Dbilas, A.W.E. and Volant are all other options altho I think the Dbilas and Volant are the cheaper ones from those.
A.W.E. and Volant are also closed airbox designs so likely a little quieter too.
You pay your money you make your choice!

Am i right in thinking that the VWR one is 'closed' also? Anyone know how much these ones go for, they seem to have a good reputation?
Cheers

Yes VWR is closed also, £456 retail, but someone Is trying to arrange a group buy I think, might bring the price down £30-40, still too pricey in my opinion for what it is.

Still tempting, considering it's surely not that much more than its competitors, and the last thing i wanted is an 'annoying' noise, lol!! Thinking though of complimetning it with a new exhaust, perhaps Milltek, although that probably alone will dramatically increase the sound!!?? :indifferent:

I picked up a k&n typoon for 70.00 and couldn't be more impressed. at the end of the day its more about the efficiency of your intercooler rather than the intake when it comes down to temperature - the turbo will heat up the air to the point where a cold air intake is only so efficient. If I can eventually get my hands on a ITG then perhaps I will if the price is right - my intake makes a nice noise and if anything looks exactly like the neuspeed intakes. If you want a larger filter at the end of the day you can always buy them and then just bolt them onto the tube.
Money to power wise I cannot be happier with my k&n and disagree when people say they should only belong on cheap saxos or corsas and not performance cars - they are used in all motor sports and one of the main suppliers for nascar and make very good gains along with dyno prints. Plus its nice to know I have a million mile warranty with mine :happy2:
