R32 rear valance on GTI
« on: May 28, 2012, 05:20:22 pm »
I fancied a r32 bumper on my gti but I wanted to keep my oem style Milltek 80mm jet tips
So I bought this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220994685906?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
And what utter toss it is

Will need about 5 hours prep to get it usable

So was wondering if I got a genuine R32 valance if I can get the centre panel for my exhaust with out goin osir carbon centre

.
OEM exhaust trim?

The Mk5 R32 rear bumper and exhaust trim are two separate parts from VW. I can't tell from that fleeBay page what you have bought - Is it the whole thing as one piece?

Btw, how's the front end you bought from a dodgy old guy on this forum?

If you manage to get hold of a genuine R32 bumper then you can get the exhaust surround

Srs tec do this one for 169euro

I was going to get their quad one but I'm now getting westons CF one now.

Or Osir one for $459.99
http://www.osirusa.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=VGTI-DTMGT1-CF&Category_Code=VGTIEB

These are the only 2 places I know that do inserts, not seen much about the SRS tec ones but as I said about I was going to get one from them

How goods the quality on that as I'm still unsure on the CF one i'm getting, so if I don't like it when on the car I might save and get their quad version

@ Nodz:

If you are getting from Weston the genuine OSIR quad exhaust trim like mine, the quality is very good and it's not stick-on like the twin version.

Its not the quality I'm worried about with westons as I know Osir products are excellent. Its just I'm not a massive fan of carbon fibre, so I'm gonna get it on the car and run it for a while and see if it grows on me or not  :happy2:

Thats good to know as I couldn't find anyone who had used them before or what the products are like.  :happy2:

The bit I bought is just one piece.

I might just stick with it and just spend the time getting it right.

Yeah the front valance is all prepped just need to get the back bumper sorted then it will be in paint shop for painting

hey just a quick question, is this the osir item? did you say it is the quad? could you post a pic of the entire valance on your car? seems to be more indented than on the sample pic on their site. much prefer yours.
