Parking sensor retrofit in the NW area?
« on: September 02, 2012, 09:30:18 am »
Hi!  Due to pick up my ED30 next Saturday from a dealer in Edinburgh....  I've promised the missus we'll get parking sensors put in ASAP.

Got quoted £300 to have them done before I pick her up, which I understand is on the steep side.  I'm not going to able to do it myself - can anyone recommend any independent dealers or workshops in the NW area that could do this properly (I'm in Manchester)?

Cheers

I've got dealer retro fit ones on my mk6 gti and they are very quiet. If you do get them fitted check where they are going to put the speaker cause at the minute I have to turn the radio right down before reversing just to hear. Great having them but pointless if you cannot hear them.

I'm just waiting until I've done enought posts to be able to pm, then I'm hoping to get in touch with Eddie-NL or mortygttdi !

I called an outfit called Satnav Systems and learned it costs about £350 for rear (£450 for front if you want), but if you've got the RNS510 I understand you can either get a rear view camera that displays on the screen, or a parking diagram, though this was around the £600 mark!

I got quoted £300 fitted from the VW dealer I'm getting the car from...
