Ok, so car collected - new LPFP, and doesn't look to have any dealer inflicted damage.
Still, have an EML showing where it wasn't before. Apparently, the pump wasn't working properly before, now it has been replaced it is ok, and the sensor is now reading wrong, despite the pump now being ok. So I have been told a sensor is now needed.
Smells like BS to me, although the car did seem to drive better. So I declined to have the car booked in for the sensor, took the part no, ordered it from the dealer in my town today - hope I can fit it tomorrow.
At the worst, at least I know these parts are new, so it will be decent when I finally have it remapped...

For anyone reading my build thread, I bought the LPFP sensor - 06E 906 051K - tried fitting this today, and whilst I knew exactly what to do, VW wiring clips were my downfall.
Managed to release the clip off the top sensor on the HFP, but the other one wouldn't budge.
Didn't want to butcher it, so will take the car to APS this week...

Well, its been ages since I updated my build thread. I'm still sorting bits on the car, but they're not always that interesting to document, IMHO. I've added the mk6 window switches & headlight switch, along with a cherry red hazard light switch - looks amazingly OEM!
Have fitted some updated Boldsport LED's in the footwells - slightly brighter than the last generation ones.
I’ve also just been erasing a few more bits of damage from the previous owner - I mean, how do you damage the ali trim on both doors :fighting:? So new trim for both doors (one was a new old stock bargain find, and the other an eyewatering VW purchase...);
I still need to fit the new charcoal cannister and hoses – a job for the next weekend…
Main reason for the post is that I have had my long awaited brake upgrade fitted. It was a long day waiting at APS for all the parts to be fitted, but it was well worth it. Some pics for you of my rarely clean car… :grin:;
So it had fitted - TTS front calipers, 340mm Brembo discs, R32 front splashshields, R32 rear calipers, OEM R32 rear discs, pads & splashshields (cut to fit), HEL front brake lines (with hard pipe delete). Also had new rear bearings – I thought some preventative maintenance was worth it, as I had read these can cause issues with the DSG when they start to go.
The OEM dampers were also replaced as they had been riding very hard & crashy – I think the VWR springs finally killed them.
It had a set of Bilstein B8’s fitted – I’m very pleased with how the car drives now. They are firm, but waaay better than the tired old OEM dampers which seemed to have lost all damping effect. The Bilsteins now at least absorb and cushion bumps, which the old dampers weren’t.
The only disappointing thing on the day was that my rear HEL brake lines couldn’t be fitted. I was advised this was because the hose line clips were either missing, or not included in the kit. Very common apparently – make sure you check yours before going for fitting. I was told these are the things that were missing;
