:scared: this is my dilemma... i want an S3 as i can get more power easier due to the K04. Now nick from R-tech has mentioned this KO3 hybrid!! im guessing that the power delivery will still be standard K03 and come in slightly early compared to the K04 but what should i do??!! put cash into my golf or keep saving and put the cash into an S3?

Hmmm, only you can decide that one i guess! The more you put into your current GTi, the more you'll want to keep going, so you're pretty much at the point now where you have to decide what you do, either keep and get the most out of it, etc etc, or put no more money into it and save your pennies for the S3. I've spent and spent and spent, literally thousands, perhaps i should have saved the money and upgraded to an Edition 30.....but instead ive got a Stage 2, getting that TiV map at R Tech next Tuesday, and then WMi in a couple of months, backed up by stiffer suspension, BCS TBE, and Twintake....i'm happy for now!!  :rolleye:

It's a hard one. Obviously you'll have more potential with the K04 but you just need to weigh everything up with the costs etc. A P Mk5 GTI engine will go far, so it's up to you how much power your wanting. If your not looking for anything more than 350bhp odds, I'd just mod your current GTI, It'll be cheaper than selling and buying an S3 or Ed30.

so what power you running? hows the clutch feel?

as for the power i would like... its a daily driver so 350bhp would be more than enough.

Well last September at R Tech, got it to 271 bhp and 331 torques, clutch was fine with that 99.9% of the time, then had it slightly lowered and had Polybushes alround, along with 4 new tyres, so combine the lot and u get much more grip and a quicker car so to speak! Come Tuesday im hoping this TiV adjustment will add on some power, certainly mid-range anyway! Then all being well with the water meths, get it up to the 300 mark of useable power! :-)
STOPPING THEN!
Ref clutch, it feels stiffer alright, but car picks up much better, and quicker, in every gear, no slipping thank fook, so a v worthwhile addition...!

hahahahahaha this is literally all i have done since collecting the car today from Statller.

The car drives amazingly well... its like a totally different car.

In the end i had the turbo replaced and steve called to say that the Cat was on it way out.

Had a standard Cat fitted and new turbo.... Decat was mentioned but i opted for the standard cat due to it being the cheaper option and less hassle when it comes to MOT.

The car has obviously not being running correct since i got it but now its full of Vpower, miller nano oil, new turbo and a non blocked cat...  :driver:

next step is down to R-tech to see what its running

a nice finishing touch from Statller was to give it a good clean ready for when i collected it. service was great and thy did exactly what they said they would... even gave me a list of things that are starting to wear/look like they need replacing.

the White edition 30 that statller have is amazing... as are the porsche 911 turbos they had there.
