Waxing the bonnet.......went wrong

..........don't put too much on the applicator pad/micro fibre cloth. couple of blobs around the size of a pound coin should be plenty to do a bonnet i.e spread it thin. :happy2:

ah. That would be why my bonnet looks like it does! Thanks for your help :)

I doubt that the swirls you're seeing are the wax, most likely washing swirls.

Hey Fish - don't think I described that very well! It's not the paint swirls, but where I put wax on but haven't buffed it I think.
