--- End quote ---
When you wash your car with a shampoo and wash mitt, any 'heavy' particles of dirt will be moved over the surface, inflicting damage (Scratching the clear coat of the paint).
Have a read of this guide: clicky.
Using a lambswool mitt will pick up some of the dirt particles, so you don't drag them across the surface of the paintwork.
Snow foam is essentially a traffic film remover, used as a prewash to break down and remove as much of the dirt as possible, so when you wash with a mitt, you will cause even less damage.

I can really recommend a snow foam lance is amazzing what they pull off. if car is waxed up as well car is nearlly clean
I had one of these before http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/super-spray-hose-end-sprayer/prod_335.html and like a previous thread unless Niagra falls is in your hose pipe not much happens - connection was also a bit dodgy used to get soaked when trying to put it on.
The lance is a good bit of kit and gets the old curtain twitchers gazing out :happy2:
