R-Tech Remap - What power gains are expected?
xjay1337:
1-3 hours depends on level of tune and any other problems..
Liam0205:
Is it common for non-specialised insurance companies to refuse offering polices on re mapped cars.
ie if I was insured by Direct Line, would they still cover me if I went ahead and got a stage 1 remap?
Joshy:
I've heard of a few non specialised insurance companies refusing the insure people because of re maps or power related mods.
When I add mods to my car, it's going to be very expensive to add everything because unfortunately I'm only 20 and not many specialist insurance companies will insure me - saying that though, rang Brentacre before I got the car and they quoted me 2k for fully comp with like for like cover on the mods. I thought that was very reasonable for my age and 1 year NCB.
MC71:
Ask them but I can't imagine any High Street Insurance company will cover you, plenty of specialised around through that will. Usual suspects are Greenlight, Sky, Adrian Flux, Brentacre etc. a good policy will offer "like for like" and no amendment charge when you phone up (no matter how often you do) to add to your mod list.
