Stealth, if you just want the stealer to check on the 24M5 notice, they can do that over the fone!

So I drove the car this morning. Managed the 4 miles to town without problems. Drove back and as I was nearing the supermarket, i had loss of power - a bit like if the car stalls but there was no warning or anything. Just sudden loss of power. Managed to park in the supermarket carpark but required me to restart the ignition at least 4 times, cutting out after about 10 seconds if I use a lot of gas to move off or sooner if I don't

Complete gayness as I really need the car for work.

Anyway sat here in the carpark waiting for vehicle recovery. Thank god I joined up about a month ago! Hopefully the dude will arrive in twenty more minutes.

Recovery guy was ten minutes early! Yay! Told him the story and said it's likely to be the fuel pressure pump. He ran his company version of VAGCOM which said 'low fuel pressure'.

Got towed to the nearest VW dealership who will try to get the car done by wednesday.

Thankfully, with RAC I have the maximum cover so the guy was able to drop me and the food shopping off home as well as sort out a hire car (unfortunately only for three days), which I should be picking up on monday (can do without over the weekend).

VW mentioned they do roadside assist using RAC. I informed them that I never received a renewal letter for the VW roadside assist.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

The dealer has had the car since Saturday but didn't get round to looking at it until today! Thankfully, it was just the sensor that needed replacing, not the pump.

Didn't realise a faulty sensor could cause the engine to cut out.

After prancing around in buses and a hire car (new shape fiesta), it feels fantastic to get back into the GTI. You appreciate the sharpness of the controls, the secure feeling of the seat, and the speed, my God the speed!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
