BSH Catch Can Install on Cupra and Idling Issue Solved
« on: September 30, 2009, 09:07:55 am »
Hey guys,

Thanks to Dubtek for getting my Kit delivered  :congrats:, it arrived on Saturday and I fitted it last night.  Follow the link below to see the fitted pics.

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=237596

The only issue I had was that after installation the car idled at 1500rpm and fell back to 850rpm constantly. I knew I had an air leak somewhere. It was the Blanking Cap supplied for the inlet manifold. It is crap to say the least  :fighting:. So I used some silicone hose and a blanking plug I had laying around and hey presto no more issue.

Out of interest did you have the eurojet pcv fix on before as the pressure from the clamping jubilee clip can sometimes distort that nice circular plastic outlet, leading to the bsh blanking cap not sealing properly.
Without traction power is nothing!

No mate, I had the silicone hose on before in the pics and had just tryed to vent to atmosphere using a homemade pipe but the fumes were horrendous with the heater on or the aircon

That could be the reason why my cap had fittment issues. Cheers  :drinking:

CUPRAK1,

Thats fine mate, I hope you can do a better job than I could lol. I am copying one of your ideas also...wheel stripes, I ordered 2 sets yesterday from the states. One set red and the other set yellow.

Going to see what the red looks like first but if I dont like it I will change to the yellow. Not too expensive either £17.50 all in including postage
