best product for removing Sonax xtreme hybrid npt

(1/2) > >>

Janner_Sy:
Currently have sonax hybrid extreme npt on my car as the LSP. It's starting to come off in some places after the winter particularly the doors.

Anyone recommend any products to remove it in prep for some Polish/wax or must use waking up liquid

xjay1337:
Just clean/decontaminate your paint as normal and then polish.
You don't need to "remove" existing LSP before polishing...

Whats your thoughts on Ford paint for toughness?  I have Megs 105/205 and CGHex-logic pads in orange white and black.

Plan is to start low and work up the abrasiveness to get rid of the swirls.

White>205
White>105 (If required)
Orange>205(f required)
Orange>105 (last resort)

Going to be using black>105 to finish it.

The swirls arent too bad tbh so i doubt ill ned the orange pad at all, hopefully not anyway.

Was considering applying FK1000P and FK2685 with the DA as well, worth it youy reckon or just stick to hand application?

I've not actually worked on any Fords!  :scared: :scared:

Google tells me it's middle-to-softish so an orange pad would probably be a bit harsh.. 105 is also very aggressive. so would probably hologram it.
I'd start off with 105 on a white pad to be honest but as you're asking I'd assume you have limited experience with machine polishing (not an insult btw  :notworthy:) so I'd stick with your mantra of working up low to high abrasiveness.

Which would technically be Black>205 to begin with, but to be honest 105/205 is a bit old (while having it's place) so yeah.

to finish you'd want 205 on a black pad??

Janner_Sy:
Yes mate, new to machine polishing.  I have an escort bonnet to practice on before hand.

just to make sure im working low to harsh in the correct order, what would be more abrasive:  White pad with #105 or orange pad with #205

Would you consider black pad>105 before stepping up to a white pad>205?
