Intakes..
oo1005:
Found out my ECU can be repaired so with the saved money I'm going to get stage 1 and thinking about an intake.. I don't want to spend a fortune but I'm more interested in performance without noise - I don't really want the usual associated induction roar.. Wastegate chatter etc however would be nice ;)
So - with that in mind it rules out the usual CAI and leaves me with the likes of the Carbonio/Carbonspeed - are they worth it or should I just swap out the filter?
Cheers!

Either buy an ITG, Evoms, Revo or Twintake, or save your money
No point doing a half step.

^^agree with Jay
Carbonio is engine bay bling and does nothing but look nice, I had one ages ago on my GTI before I went stage1
Personally wouldn't bother with the twintake as there's a lot of information about bad airflow regarding the filters compared to the other intakes available
Think the evoms is the cheapest but performs well
Then the ITG slightly better but bigger open filter so noisier
Lastly revo which is considered by many as the top dog at the moment, currently running this on my S3 and am very impressed, had an ITG on the GTI but hard to compare as the bhp is very different between the two cars, it's slightly quieter than my ITG was but can still get some nice chatter

Or make a hybrid like mine! Forge twintake with the restrictive filters removed and itgs in replacement now that's awesome!
