Are you going to use them with halogen or xenon bulbs? OEMs are a safe bet and also Hella is known to make good quality headlights. Just keep in mind that each projector is different and a bad one (i.e. cheap Chinese projectors) will offer less visibility than the stock halogen headlights.

These are the one's I would go for:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130691322789

Paired up with a canbus friendly H7 HID kit 5000k or 6000k.

If only I had a Golf  :ashamed:

You'll need the kit - i.e. bulbs, loom and ballasts.

I believe removing the headlights involves taking the front bumper off..youtube that to see how it's done.

Wiring up a HID kit is very simple.

You can get those hellas in halogens too just in case you wanted them. Sourced mine through hella/andrew page. Xenon look headlamps and dont need the ballasts and all that stuff.  Straight plug and play

I wouldn't have doubts about the quality of the Hella projectors, can't say the same for the aftermarket HID kit though since I've had weird experiences in the past.
If you plan on getting new Hellas plus an HID kit, you might also want to look for used OEM xenons that include the headlight assembly, bulbs and ballasts, but then you would also need an adapter (~40 GBP) and someone to code them. I believe there is a set for sale in the classifieds.
You would also lose height adjustment unless you install the OEM module with the sensors. However, you will have the bi-xenon function that Hellas lack.
