Console Bolts

<< < (2/3) > >>

Wooosh:
Don't understand car owners who can't be bothered to buy new bolts, there hardly expensive or anything. :stupid:

Scottymon:
^ Definitely mate, garages do it all the time :(

Thinking of getting a bracket:

Then if I do snap one, it's got to be a better solution than spending hours drilling bolts out.

What are people's opinion?

skard:
It's ally and if I recall a steel bolt?

I had one snap on me, just got another from a scrappy. Tried a few things to get the bolt out but it was a lot of time and effort in comparison.

Scottymon:
Cheers m8... just thought if I can get the front bolt free, is it possible to leave the console inplace and hammer the centre of the wishbone out and then take the console off the new one and grease it up and mallet it in situ?

vRSAlex:
If copper or ally grease is used on the bolts then they come out OK every time.  Last time I had one that I knew would snap, I heated the subframe then impacted the bolt out.

So try some heat into the subframe first.
