Might be a stupid thing, or not possible, but what about the ability to sort results by relevance, date or alphabetical?

Click on the advance search (the little gear next to the main search bar) that will give you a few more options, but no alphabetical sorting I am afraid

Also it searches only as deep as you are in the forum... so

If you are on the main forum page... it will search the entire forum

If you are in a board... lets say members rides... it will only search members rides.

If you are in a post.. then it will only search in that post

Excellent, the search function was the worst thing about this site, now I get recent results as well as old ones
