Gutted to read these didn't clear the brakes - I was expecting these to look epic on the car.
Any other wheel you are going for now?

^^^^ Like those! I nearly bought a set a while back, I ummmmed and aaarrrred for ages, awesome wheels. :happy2:

Yeah I saw you were between a few sets for a while, I think that's the first time a saw these ones actually.

Yeah I really thought being a 'racing' wheel they'd have plenty of clearance, it was quite difficult for me to keep my calm tbh. I've got a couple of possibilities in mind ATM.

I've liked these for a while

But I saw these recently and I think they'd look awesome, luckily we've got a Porsche in at work that has these wheels on so I should be able to find out if they clear without having to buy another set of wheels only to have to return them.

Going to take a few days to think and return/ sell all the stuff I bought.

I'm sorry to read that the wheels didn't have enough brake clearance. I hope you can find a good set that suits your needs. :(

You'll be fine running  H&Rs or Eibach's on track mate.
Consider going for a lower offset to gain extra clearance.

It was 48 or 35 and I think 35's would have given me clearance issues tbh. I've just been told I can't return them so its either make them fit or sell them  :indifferent:, such a ball ache.

You think H&R's / Eibachs would be alright then? Even 10mm +? Seems a tad risky to me, I've got no issues with spacers/ adaptors on the road or 3mm/ 5mm on track but that size worries me a bit.

You would have been fine 8 inch et35 with rolled arches.

Yes mate. No issues. I run 12mm spacers, ran 20mm on my old TDI, 12mm on my GTI.
what are you worried about? Lol

I know wheel bolts can come loose on track days and with a spacer aren't they more likley to vibrate themselves very loose (if they've already come a touch loose) if you follow what I mean.

Re: Dans grey MK5 GTI, New wheels test fitted, should I keep them poll.

So when I got the wheels on Monday and they didn't fit I was a bit emotional and dismissed them very quickly. Now I've had some time to relax and think clearly I decided to give them a decent test fit and take a few photos.

I've had to use an 11mm spacer to clear the fronts but it should still be OK clearance wise. I do really like then and the grey on grey works better than I thought it might do. I'm still not 100% sure though which is why I put the poll up.

If I do keep them then which centre caps do you guys think? I really like the 'central lock' ones but not sure if they're taccy though.

Are the front tyres out of the front wings? If not, you're fine with those spacers. :happy2:

I prefer the wheels with the central lock style cover. Just the centre cap isn't enough to fill that space.

Thanks, and no problem  :happy2:

I'm pretty sure the front will be fine if I raise it a bit, I thought the same about the centre cap, it looks empty with the little one.
