Awesome news! :)

Mini coopers look so good stanced, it's one of those cars that we all have which we love but hate to admit it haha

@shoduchi, I hate the look of them! It's how it drives and the interior that makes it so wonderful! My boyfriend buzzes about it as much as I do and he's a VW guy

@ephemeross I am tempted to buy one... Getting 85mpg in the motorway makes me feel tingly inside haha

Here's a photo of the ugly thing next to a proper Mini!

Golf related update now - I get her back tomorrow! I'm a little excited now ️ I miss DSG & powerrrrrr!

No modifications since I last posted which is a little frustrating but as usual I've been paying a fortune to keep this thing in decent shape..

Hit a pothole in town that was filled with water and damaged one of my front tyres so badly that the wire from the bead was poking out! Had to go to halfrauds to buy a jack so I could change my wheel over. So I changed my first ever wheel! I noticed that my tyre was also down to the chord on the inside even tho there were no scrubbing noises clear while driving.. So I bought some spacers while I was there to make sure my tyres clear the struts! Managed to get another 205/40X18 tyre for £35. Bargain

I then booked her in for a wheel alignment as it was crabbing all over the road while I was driving. Turns out the two rear control arms needed replaced :( so after a 212 quid bill, she actually drove in a nice steady straight line again.. Great price imo for two rear control arms and a four wheel alignment with a print-out! Thoroughly recommend Automek in East Kilbride to anybody around the area! :pomppomp:

Started getting a rumble from my nsr wheel bearing just five days before ed38 so I had to go down in the boyfriends car rather than take my own.. Didn't want to do a stupid amount of miles knowing it needs done! So I've purchased a new bearing ready to be fitted whenever he has time.

I've still not had the front cv boots done.. Should probably get around to that too!

It's now been 6 months since my car was serviced so I've bought a filter and some oil. I MAY attempt servicing by myself. May is the key word here  :signLOL:

Get those CV boots done otherwise you'll be regretting it son enough, especially with winter coming up! And as for doing the oil, it's straight forward enough to do yourself and it's the best job to start out learning for yourself, its certainly how I started working on engines and now I'm swapping them, ripping them apart and all sorts.

Or maybe you shouldn't do an oil change, it works out cheaper in the long run... :P

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

CV boots are being purchased on the 30th when I get paid! Rooked this month :( Then fitted hopefully that weekend! I know it'll be pretty straight forward, I just get really anxious doing things to my car when I'm around my boyfriend and unfortunately he's the one with the tools  :scared:

My Mum has said she might get me tools for Christmas.. I was supposed to buy them this year but I just haven't got around to it!

Are you going.to.do.the cv boots yourself? I can certainly help you with the driver side one. Id say have someone there on hand to help/hold when you need it

In all honesty, probably not! I'll watch my boyfriend doing them so I've got an idea what to do.. I'm really nervous when it comes to mechanics  :ashamed: I'll do the oil and filter change myself but he's said cv boots can be tricky/annoying so I'm not confident at all!

Yeah they can be. the difficulty is disconnecting and reconnecting the CV joint. took me about 7 hours total lol. I'm sure I could at least half that now I've done it before. You also need the right pliers to close the clamps around the boots.

My boyfriend burst a driveshaft on his mk4 on the way to edition 38 last month and managed to get it changed over in 30 minutes tops with his friend... He's really quite good so hopefully it won't be too much of a rubbish job considering the weather's starting to worsen. Damn winter  :scared:

I got them off ebay, about 19.50 from a member called Unit67! I've bought 5 or 6 of these exact plates and they're fantastic :) I've not been pulled with them on, and neither has anyone else that I bought them for!
