My Pirelli
ducman77:
Gorgeous mate!!
I love the yellow lipstick. I think it totally ties in with the Pirelli theme. Between the fogs and the decals on the brakes (and obviously the interior stitching) I think it really works :happy2:
Love your approach to modifying the car. I would love to do all the VW based upgrades as you have! I'd say it's cost you a good bit to get this far?
Who trimmed your wheel? It looks a top class job?
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks guys, I must say I'm pleased with how the brakes not only look but work, massive improvement over standard.
As for cost, yeah it's not one of the cheapest hobbies around, and as stated on another thread on here best not to tally up..
I must say tho its worth being patient on eBay, I have picked up some real bargains, MDI set-up for my missus EOS (see other thread) including the loom for £20! plus loads more for my Pirelli, it all pays off.
As for the wheel it was re-trimmed by www.royalsteeringwheels.com and what a fantastic job he did too.
The workmanship and leather is great and I think even @Eddie-NL would agree :happy2:

Cheers mate :happy2:
Definitely best not to tally up
Will keep eBay in mind. I usually only look on the forum. Need to spread my horizons :ashamed:
Cheers for the link to your trimmer. Some job they did :happy2:

So, its been a while since I have updated progress with the Pirelli, its still with me and running well..
I took the decision to have her remapped in the summer and Nikki at R-tech worked worked his magic to transform the cars performance from a healthy 240BHP to a very reasonable 300BHP with 340 LBFT of torque, I have informed by Nikki that it would have made more horses if it wasn't for being one of the hottest days of 2018!!
I'm very happy with the outcome and while 300BHP on this forum is main stream these days its a joy to drive and goes like stink.. would love to pursue more but noisy intakes and costs involved feel at my age it my stop here

Styling wise inside and out I have added some Pirelli badges to the standard mats to add the the Pirelli theme..
and also fitted some carbon fibre mirrors.
And with the help of Ed, we installed a MK6 reverse camera badge, great addition and being a fiddler wanted to match the newer badge on the back so fitted a Tiguan rear badge to the front to bring it a bit more and match the back..
And whilst updating the media side of things, I added a newer RNS with DAB to allow track titles and wheel control over the iPhone, along with a Polo DAB aerial to gain access to all those DAB channels.
Also added a Scirocco interior mirror, great improvement over the huge standard MK5 item. oh and just for a giggle fitted some replacement Pirelli door warning lights, a bit marmite but I like them for now!
The handling is next thing to deal with, the remap has showed holes in the handling department, a Superpro anti lift kit has been fitted and this has worked wonders, I have also fitted a Superpro insert but I may remove due to the increase in cabin vibration, whilst only slight it may tire and be removed, thoughts options?
have pictures but they won't load up, server not responding.. any ideas?
