Stage 1 Complete, What Next
« on: January 20, 2015, 04:59:02 pm »
Hi Folks,

Unsure what to do next (so many options).

I have a Stage 1 Map, VWR CAI, Golf R (Rev D) DV Valve, New Coil pack (replaced under recall). And that's about it.

What is the next logical step.  Hi pressure fuel pump, DE-Cat Downpipe or what?  Any advice (preferably from Norn Ironers who can point locations out) greatly appreciated.

Sounds great, air intake must make the exhaust gruntier, lol.

Anti lift kit
Wheels
Coilovers
Brakes

And the list goes on  :signLOL:

I'm planning on a stage 1 in a few months. Done a bit of prep though already:

Cam follower
Pre-cat removal (possibly should have done before your stage 1, really opens up the flow.)
Revision G DV
Pipercross panel filter
Major service
Planning on a cat back for a bit of noise

Think about what you want before spending money,  hpfp and decat logically would've been done before spending money on a stage one map. ... personally I've done all the preventative maintenance on my car. .. Now I'm going ring in a few months so now prepping for that with motul rbf 600 brake fluid,  s3 wishbones,  Michelin pilot sport 3 tyres then if funds allow eibach lowering springs then lastly a stage one map I just want a daily run around which puts a smile on my face

The list really is endless think carefully and research what you buy to make sure you don't waste money

Jees, wasn't expecting any replies.  Awesome guys.

It puts a smile on my face, that VWR intake screams  (in a good way) when I sink the boot and it doesn't hang around.  Not too sure of figures but it sniffs at the ar$e of the older Boxsters lol, to the point he moved into the slow lane to let me past :D.  I want more now!.

I don't understand the best route just.  I was thinking Decat downpipe and Uprate the HPFP but sounds stupid in my head.  Any performance gains from doing those 2 bits?

Arrg, no close VDUB buddies so no real examples to compare too. (Insert Sad Face)

Intercooler
Downpipe with decat/ sports cat
Upgrade HPFP

This will give you the pretty much the Max you can get with standard turbo. However with the huge torque increase a new (uprated) clutch  will be needed to cope with it.
