MarkyN:
@Peskyjones I put the metal polish in with a cloth but quite thick, cover the whole tip, then I worked it in with the wool. After that I got a clean cloth and buffed it up, if still not shiney / clean enough just repeat the procedure

Well last night I went to my local Volkswagen dealership, picked up the Cam Follower and seal, which was the plan to fit when I had got home.
Then I had a few texts of the lads about tips on lowering my car. So the spanners came out and the suspension was stripped.
I had tried doing it for 2 days in the week but realised that the front end need to be completely off the floor, the droplinks removed on both sides and the job is simple.
So that's what was done.

Plenty of WD40 and swear words were involved in this

Then they finally came out!

Now this is how the car site are the moment. The rear is all the way down but sits just right for myself, just slightly about the rear tire which is what I was after.
The front have another 1/2 inch left to turn down if I want too but at the moment k think where it is, it's just about right. I might taken them down a few more turns but see what they look like after a few days of settling in.

Picked up the new can follower from VW and got that fitted this evening.

This is the one I removed

Fitted the brand new one and now the GTi doesn't sound like a derv.

Happy days  :pomppomp: :pomppomp: :pomppomp:

James10:
May have to try the cam follower on mine as hate the derv sound! Cars looking good

MarkyN:
@James10 since I have changed it, it seems a lot less like a derv. Thinking I'll do the diverter valve next but unsure on which the best one is to go for
