mk5 r32 rear brake upgrade... the great debate about dust shields

(1/3) > >>

TForrest94:
Afternoon all, ive managed to get my r32 front brakes fitted and bedded in they need a good bleeding but i dont wanna do this till the rears are on

Now the garage thats been doing the work wernt happy to fit the rears in the same sitting due to the dust shields being too smalL
i know a lot of you guys just bend or remove them but all parties on this side would feel a lot better would feel something in placw for peace of mind

now heres my plan: i know fabricating completly new shields would be an incredible waste of resources but if i was able to get a set of r32 shields and gti shields would it be possible to join them together with the power of welding?? Or do the fitting vary substantially that it wouldnt be possible?

Any input is always appreciated
Thanks
Tommy

Andy:
Why not buy and fit the shields like i did

rich83:
Push them back... They will work fine.

i told the guys to do thag at the start and he wasnt happy about it, proper by the book which has its advantages i suppose just weighing up the options really
