If you have the winter pack, they'll be part of it. Winter pack I think is heated seats, headlamp washers, low washer fluid warning, heated windscreen jets.

What car do you have?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I think you have to have you headlights on for them to engage if i remember correctly, then its every third wash of the windshield to activate them

I thought the low washer fluid warning was in all GTI's??

ED30's have the heated seats etc as standard, but I dont have the headlight washers, so Im assuming I dont have the winter pack either......I did think I had the heated washer jets and the low washer fluid warning etc though....

Heated seats were standard with leather I believe but winter pack was an extra as above. Headlight washers come on when the lights are on and you use the windscreen washers...  :happy2:

JUST HAD A BRILLIANT IDEA !!!

Why havent they thought of Heated Windscreen Wash - for the frost on a morning - i hate having to wait 5 minutes for De Froster to come on or get some warm water from the house.

Or has this idea been thought of lol  :signLOL:

I remember seeing a retrofit kit over on the SEAT forum a few years back that basically consisted of a length of hose that extended the washers so you could wrap it round one of the water hoses under the bonnet. Apparently it worked quite well.

I used to have a mk1 focus as a company car - the washer bottle was in the inner wing away from the engine. Took hours to defrost some times. I once drove from my house (just outside edinburgh) to carlise with it frozen solid all the way. That was even with screenwash in the bottle.

Ford motors have an option for heated windscreens that defrost like in no time.... but u end up with a hairline wavey grid in the windscreen.
