Candy White Golf GTI Ed. 30 - 8th track day at Estoril
teo_parvu:
Nice progress, I have the Vibratechnics insert for 4 years now. The car feels much more composed.
It a very good upgrade with almost unnoticeable extra vibrations in the cabin.
Don't worry about the wheels, they will fit nicely without spacers on ET45 wheels. :happy2:
I just met with a friend who has this setup:
I've also kept the Cupra/Gti rear dust shields, my mechanic had to bend them slightly towards the shoks.
Keep it coming!

@teo_parvu The main reason for me to choose these calipers instead of the TTRS's was not needing wheel spacers with them. The cost is similar for just the calipers, but the TTRS calipers use better adaptors (radial that are more expensive).

My mechanic sent me the some pictures of the work done so far. He's 200 miles away so it's not easy to go there just to check how things are going.
H&R sway bar vs OEM:
Powerflex rear bush of the front suspension control arm to be replaced by the SALK:
Vibra-Technics engine mount bush (2nd hand from @DanGB) to replace the Powerflex one I got when I bought the BCS exhaust:

Looked in pretty good shape still.
A few pictures of the BCS Powervalve TBE Prestige system with 200 cell cat and wrapped DP:
Brembo 18Z calipers to be repainted red and fitted Brembo lettering:
Rear R32 brake setup and Ferodo DS2500 pads:
Painted calipers and carriers:
OEM rear brakes vs R32 brakes:
OEM rear spash plate vs R32:
The R32 plates aren't compatible with the GTI's hubs. Fortunately I can return them still.
Engine bay before:
Engine bay after with R8 red ignition coils:
Old OEM spark plugs vs NGK Iridium BKR7EIX spark plugs:
ITG Profilter panel filter fitted:
I hope you liked the update.

Big like! :happy2:
It's turning into a real...BOMB! :jumping:
Keep in mind that you'll have to properly bed in the brakes.
After that I'd like a review.

Yeah, the new brakes will need a proper bedding. Not sure if my mechanic will do it or not before handing the car back. I asked him to setup the suspension as he pleased, since he knows better how to do it. He'll have to drive it enough to really get the best setup.
