wakefield matey
i'm thinking about going for less of a drop, maybe 15mm and keeping with 17's just changing the wheel. anybody recommend an springs that will lower a genuine 15-20mm? i know the pro kit did but i believe thats been stopped in production now.
KW -20mm £122.34
Eibach Pro -10/15mm £136.85
Weitech -20mm £112.55
leaning towards the KW kit at the moment but not ordering until early jan so gunna have a good think.

Folks, need some advice...
Fitted Eibach Sportline springs on my Golf GTi (DSG). Car was only a month old when the new ones were installed. Ever since then I get an occasional rubbing/thud noise when going round corners or bumpy roads.
The noise appears to emanate only from the driver side (UK right hand drive car).
Contacted Eibach and they have said they have never experienced this problem. After much discussion, and the fact the car was literally brand new - they offered to provide a replacement set, fitted free of charge.
After going through the hassle of getting a new set fitted the problem is still there
What could it be, and why is it just the one side? Is this to be expected with the Eibach Sportline kit? Has anyone else had similar experiences with the sportline kit? Any suggestions what else I could check?
Before anyone says, I only weigh 76Kg.
I should mention...the noise only started after I had the Eibach springs installed. I have thought about taking the car to my local dealership - but I have had a far from acceptable experience from them.
I expect them to say that the problem is as a result of having after market installed springs - even though the Eibach ones are better. They will probably try to squirm out of any potential work/warranty claim...
The occasional knock/scrub noise definitely emanates from the front driver side wheel...it happens when I turn to the left firmly or go over a speed hump at moderate speeds - basically stuff which normally did not cause a problem before.
I'd be interested from anyone with Eibach sportline springs - and know if they have had similar problems - or what it might be.
Thanks,
Mo

mojo, you should try removing the arch screw on the driver's side and tucking the plastic liner behind the screw hole.
