You might be better off with an ED30 lump (BYD) or S3 as it has bigger wrist pins, 4 bolt mains and stronger rods / pistons than the AXX. 20 psi from a GT35 shoves a hell of a lot more air in than 20 psi of K03. Pressure is one thing, but pressure with a lot more flow is another. Think 20psi garden hose vs 20psi fire truck hose. One makes you wet, the other knocks you off your feet.
Not knocking your build, just putting that out there :)
Nowt wrong with high hp FWD either, I had a Corrado VR6 turbo which was insanely fast and good fun.
Standard management can handle it by the way. Not many affordable standalones support direct injection, let alone variable fuel pump control etc etc.

No I appreciate the post!!
The psi is just what the unitronic site says I'm unsure what psi I'll be running but I can use an ebc to adjust to suit
As for the ed30 engine I have a k1 engine lying around will the bottom end of that match up with an axx head?!
I have found some con rod drawings online and it turns out they are made from en24t steel which we have at work so I'm debating making my self a set!

Ah OK! 350-400 seems a bit weak from a GT35 @ 20psi tbh, should be nearer the 500 mark! It's a whopper of a blower for a 2.0 and it will haul arse when it kicks in :happy2:
Not sure tbh, don't see why not, but the reason I suggested the whole ED30 lump is because it's head is a bit different to AXX as well. A stronger alloy apparently.
Yeah why not! It'd only be some chap in China making them otherwise ;)
chudds:
It is rather low for the size of the turbo I assume there isn't enough flow to really get going...
It's the tsi/FSI thing that I'm stuggling with weather it'd match up but I'm trying to avoid swapping the engine to be truly honest...
Well that's my thought, if I can make aircraft parts I can make a set of rods! Haha
mk5-beast-91:
Saves some money to for other upgrades. I dont really see the point of swapping the engine if your gonna uprate the internals tbh. If staying stock then yes in swap.
