I`d try un-pairing the phone and then pair it back again ...
See if that helps...
I take it you have a "B" version Skoda BT unit ...
-
I've heard of somoene else with the same problem Scott.

Either that or revert back to the older iPhone OS Scott.

3GS ios4 B Skoda bluetooth - same problem, the numbers show correct, but the contact names are rubbish
-
I shall check mine later but as I don't really use the highline I guess its not too much of a problem.
-
Yeah a lot of people are reporting the same problem with the Skoda BT.
I know of at least one owner on Briskoda who has the same problem. The only thing I can think is at the contacts are being accessed from the sim. They do get stored weirdly on Sim Cards.
So you could try and copy the contacts from the sim to the phone and then delete them off the sim. But that is risky if you have no way of backing the sim up.
Alternatively you could use something like MobileMe to store contacts etc. That way then you can delete off the sim and not worry about losing them as they a kept by MobileMe.
I don't have a problem but I am using a Fiscon BT kit which leads me to believe it is the Skoda BT and not the Software that is causing the problem.

I had a similar problem with my alpine unit. I had reset it, pressin off and home button at the same time. Then reconnected it and it worked fine. give it a go mate.

If you go into settings, mail/contacts/calendars you can see there is an option to import contacts from the sim. Which is why was saying about them being stored on the sim.
Either way i don't think it's an issue with the software as I don't have the same problem with a Fiscon Kit.
-
Same corrupt names show on the RNS, checked my sim and no numbers stored on it :chicken:
Only difference between Friday and Saturday was upgrade to IOS4

Thats just for people that are moving to an iPhone from a lesser model. :happy2:

Looks like BMW, Skoda BT, Merc, Audi and Parrot users are having problems with IOS 4
Rumours are that Apple is releasing a new version next week 4.0.1 for the reception problems, and no doubt to patch the jailbreak, maybe they will fix the bluetooth issue as well
-
So the Fiscon kits don't have this problem? But I have read they use parrot modules though?

Not sure what modules they use although i don't think it's parrot ones.
But I definitely have no problem on mine.

Got this info off the navi forum.
Re: 1Z0 035 729 B phonebook download corruption using iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.0
UPDATE: Definitely an Apple problem related to iOS 4 and Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) - names are misread before they reach the Skoda (or any other BT PBAP receiving device in our cars). Not resolved yet but if you read to the end of this thread it looks like Apple understands they have a bug...maybe.

Checked mine today and it's goosed.
Let's hope Apple get their fingers out for a fix :sad1:

Anyone know if this also affects the 1Z0 035 729 C or E modules!?
-
No problems to report on the Mk6 with the 729e module.

i noticed after doing the update on my 3g iphone that it kept messing up on my parrot kit but after buying the iphone 4 its been perfect
-
works great on seat bluetooth but one small thing i noticed, the ringtone now plays through the speakers instead of the phone playing the ringtone and the car making a telephone noise ...
voice quality etc still sh*t as ever tho

Phew - I was going to ask if this affected the iPhone 4 as well, mine arrives in the morning!
Mind you, I have had to suffer on-going issues with the Skoda Bluetooth interface on my RNS-510 when paired with my work issued Blackberry Bold for ages now so I'm well used to glitches like this!
-
Well, looks like this affects the iPhone 4 too. I paired my new iPhone 4 with my Skoda Bluetooth unit yesterday and was greeted with the following:

I suppose there is one bit of good news, I no longer need to make excuses for showing photos taken with my iPhone! However, this is a total nightmare... Any news on this getting sorted?
