Title: Cruise Control Coding Clarification
Post by: tkboyle on July 11, 2012, 06:42:54 pm
Hi,

Just had cruise control fitted and coded to a MY07 ED30.

It appears to have been coded and is registering commands as seen in vcds although it's not activating on the road.

The car has MFSW and Highline and is a manual.
Would like if possible for someone to post the coding if they have the same spec.

The stalk is the newer Mk6 one (1K0 953 513 G)

cheers

Did you code both the steering controller and the engine?

Yep it's been coded.

Steering Wheel Module
Code: [Select]
Address 16: Steering wheel       Labels: 1K0-953-549-MY8.lbl
Control Module Part Number: 1K0 953 549 BD    HW: 1K0 953 549 BD
  Component and/or Version: J0527           638 0070
           Software Coding: 0002022
            Work Shop Code: WSC 12345 123 12345
           Additional Info: XXXXXXXXXXX E0221           002 0010
           Additional Info: Geraet 12345
                      VCID: 75E5E5E76701
No fault code found.

Engine Module
Code: [Select]
040300031807 01 60
I'm not sure if the values represented in the steering module are correct.

Think I might have found my answer.

Just a Note for others

ANY controller with 638 0070  HW and SW will not allow cruise to be fitted

Oh. I have a BD

yes you have a BD with the wrong HW / SW

there are other BD controllers with different HW / SW just make sure whatever you buy doesn't have 638 0070 on the label

Presuming you have sat at a steady speed over 30mph to activate. Controls do nothing stationary, Sounds stupid but a friend was expecting the light to come on once fiited/coded.

I did manage to get to 88mph. Only then did it switched on. Once activated I then found myself driving in 1955.

where on the label will this code be? is it part of the part number? pic would be awesome.

will just be helpful for the future when asking friends to check there controller to see if its cruise compatible.

slip ring depends on the control module.
