Title: DV update
Post by: gazbutS3 on August 20, 2009, 11:30:14 am
Just fitted the "D" version of the DV valve, think its from the later TSI engine, has no visable seals so I'm thinkin it may be a bit more durable.
Interesting the valve that I removed was the "G" version which looked fine by the way after 14k remapped miles, whilst the valve I took of m 57 plate ED30 was the "C" version which I still have and it has only done 500miles so if anyone wants it for a spare give me a shout, I could bring it to Awesome on Sunday :happy2:

Anybody else running the "D" version and what are their thoughts?

Yeah i have it, when i took myold one off it actually fell in half, explaining my slight issues with boost. It seemed much better built and more durable though.
car felt well fast after.
what i have noticed is that you can here it venting out quite a bit, sounds awesome when lifting off the throttle

fairly, the hardest bit is just getting the screw driver in there..

i have a flexible screwdriver so can get to the three screws just...

Or i remove the intake from behind grill to engine cover, then easy to get too..

just swap.

Revision D is the latest for the TSI engine but works with the TFSI, most ED30 will have the revision G one.

The part number is 06 H 145 710 D

I thought you have the forge DV Steve?

Don't think you can buy the D valve anymore from the dealers, I have a G fitted to mine because i was told the D had been superseded

Just checked my version of ETKA (which is reasonably up to date, Update 766) and it says the G version was dropped on 01/04/09. the replacement is the revision D cut off valve (as it's called in the parts system.)

So the right part number to ask for is 06H 145 710 D  :happy2:

so are you saying that all FSI cars will now be using the new TSI D valve if you want to replace it ?

^^^ That's what ETKA suggests to me, plus mojo listed parts we was having replaced under warranty in his power loss thread and it was the latest revision D cut off valve too  :happy2:

I picked up my new dump valve today, and it is indeed the "D" revision.  I asked them to check the supersession chain before ordering, and as Steve says, D has been the latest version since April.

Sorry for the epic bump, but I was wondering if there is any chance of a piston type VW valve letting go?

I used to have the diaphragm type valve until I remapped it and very soon after emission lights on the dash suggested that it was history. When it came out it was torn in several places! It was replaced with a VW piston type valve, not sure what revision, but now my turbo is whistling a little and I wonder whether this one is letting go too - nothing on the dash/vcds to suggest so.

Might go for the Forge version this time!
