Ripped clothing at work
« on: December 31, 2012, 02:55:02 pm »
In the early part of December, I was asked to empty the shredding bins around the building. As I unhooked the sack from inside the bin and moved backwards so I would empty the sack into the wheelie bin,  I caught my trousers on the lock mechanism, thus putting a small rip in my suit trousers - unrepairable and a accident.  When I returned, our HSE lady saw the rip and said that I should get some money for this.  I have told my direct manager twice about this and I am still waiting.  What else can I do?

Now, I am a contractor, but I am sure that I will get the same benefits as a paid employer.

My dad when he was working, ripped two of his shirts in the work place and the company paid for two new shirts.

Last year I had a serious fall at work. I was given the wrong ladder and fell from the second rung seriously damaging my little finger...

Have you had your clothes ripped at work? Has your suit been ruined by a dodgy lock mechanism on a paper shredder?

Wrong, unless your contract states you do.

On the note of people claiming, Has anyone seen that advert with the 3 blokes and the woman walking down the steps dressed in suits when she falls flat on her arse.

Wander how long it took them to jump on her to make her claim for the floor moving or something daft like that!
How hard can it be?
