Rear Diffuser Carbon Wrap
« on: January 06, 2010, 09:07:07 pm »
Guys,

What's a carbon wrapped MK5 GTI rear bumper look like around the Diffuser section?

I've seen a few Ed30's but not on the STD GTI bumper. I might do this myself.
How much wrap would i need to do this?

Thanks,
Pete.
Pete

You would need to get it painted first or sanded smooth.  :happy2:

Indeed TC, this would be after colour coding. I'd get the diffuser area sanded before applying

It sticks better to paint so i would just get the lot coded and then apply it to the paint. I dont think i have seen it done before on a original bumper.  :happy2:

hello fella,

here is a very rough and ready p'shop i did this morning, can do a better one in a different colour if required (if i get more than 5 mins free haha). I will be doing my own splitter in the next couple of weeks so if you are interested i can let you know how it goes.

lol - I think I'll just colour code and leave the diffuser part black, as it is.
I think you could be right, would only suit ED30's and R32's.

Perhaps put an Ed30 rear bumper on and have this.....

 :happy2: That looks lovely!
I may have mine done but won't be as effective on a black car :sad1:
May have it done matte titanium like my front splitter but not sure how it would look......
Anyone able to do a quick photocop in matte titanium for me please? (sorry for the thread hijack!) but may help in developing ideas!  :happy2:

If you have a pic of the colour it would be easier to do and better results for you!  :happy2:
