SteveP's New Toy
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:22:28 pm »
I was going to save the full reveal until a few more mods had been done but couldn't wait anymore

Well Saturday was a bit of a mixed day.

Very sad to let this one go but it's time had come  :sad1:

She gave 19 months and 62K Miles of enjoyment  :happy2:

But on the plus side I picked up this: -

6 months old and just 6k miles

It a very nicely specced one too with: -

Reflex Silver Metallic
DSG (of course)
Black Vienna Leather
18" Monza Shadows
Adaptive Chassis Control
Active Corning Xenon's
Sunroof
RNS-510 & 6 CD Arm Rest Changer
Dynaudio
Bluetooth Telephone Prep
Front & Rear Sissy Sensors
Rear View Camera
Lux Pack
Winter Pack
Cruise Control

Initial impression is very very good and with some plans I have I am sure this will easily be a longer term match for the ED30

Favorite bits from the toys on the car so far are the new Xenon's with the side to side then up and down start-up dance    and the great sound from the Dyaudio pack

Performance wise for the first 46 hours of ownership wasn't very impressive but a trip to Revo HQ first thing Monday morning soon started to address this. So with a nice Stage 1 TSI remap installed by Revo Carl I am very pleased with the improvement. The car just feels much more alive and really pulls well for a small turbo. The delivery of the increased power is completely OEM in it's feel but just soooooooo much stronger. On the motorway the in-gear acceleration really surprises and on my personal test route the Mk6 is only a few miles per hour slower on a point to point test than my ED30  :surprised:

Also dropped in the OSIR O-shift Ali paddle shifters which work great and look really good with the rest of the metal parts of the new Mk6 Steering wheel.

Lots more to come in the next few weeks including some OEM R-Line LED taillights
