Just done the thermostat on my GTI. Improved the MPG. Remember the thermostat is quite a job on these cars.

It's easy with the alternator out of the way, which in itself is easy to remove  :happy2:

1 job down - the 'clunk' was from the front top suspension - I nipped these up and alls good. don't you just love the simple 5min fixes......
GreigC - thanks for advise - I will look into thermostat job before attacking.
No garage - crappy weather - a job for next week me thinks....
