So I have noticed that the car felt slower the last couple of months. Today I read the codes and saw the P0299 under boost code that I have been fighting in the past. I thought it was probably a DV or a leaky intercooler hose since I've changed the turbo with an OEM one from VW. So installed a gfb diverter valve and whoops same code. Around 300mbar lower than the specified to be exact. So I decided to do a smoke test, connecting the smoke machine to the intake and saw 0 smoke. (Untill I opened the oil filler cap!) It smoked like a chimney! So maybe I have a faulty PCV? Did the usual check with the car on idle and opened the cap. I could feel some vacuum but the way the engine was running haven't changed much. Luckily I had a spare one and swapped it out quickly. Started the car, did a small test and the car was boosting around 100mbar more according to the logs. That still however didn't cure the fault code. (Which I've obviously cleared before.) Now I'm thinking if maybe I have the issue with the rear pcv since I have never changed it previously. I'm not sure but I don't think I should see any smoke coming from the oil cap when I do a smoke test.
Was wondering if someone has ever troubleshooted this kind of thing.
