JKM Rolling Road Day Feeler
« on: January 20, 2009, 04:12:02 pm »
Hi Guys and Girls,

We would like to hold a rolling road day for the forum in March. Thinking Saturday April 18th or 25th.  :driver:

Most of you have been before to our RR days but for those who haven’t it is a great day

The cost of the power run is £30 (reduced from the normal £50). For this you get three back to back runs on the dyno with a graph print out of your best run.

The day starts around 9am and we usually run around 25 cars (minimum of 10 for the day to go ahead)
Free tea/coffee and biscuits on site for all runners and spectators.

Previous rolling road day results can be seen here: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/GalleryRollingroad.htm

This is a feeler at present, please let me know if you are interested and I will get an official thread started.

Kate

Hmm,

I'd be a definite maybe on this one. As a northern lad it is a bit of a trek down to Portsmouth, but my Uncle lives down there and so (depending on him being at home!) I could make a long weekend of it

I'll keep an eye on this thread and see how much interest there is. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

I'll definitely come down and see all those in attendance if this meet goes ahead...

Whether or not I run on the RR is dependent on funds, or whether I've fiddled with my Revo settings.

That probably doesn't help things in the slightest!

I'm going to make a few calls regarding my Revo settings tomorrow, so I'll be able to say whether I'll run on the RR in due course...

....

I'm up for it, Kate - You know what a slapper I am!

It's also an opportunity to check my engine's health.

Btw, my car is now somewhat lower - I hope I can get onto your Dyno!

[which reminds me I should post praising JKM's usual great service re my DS2500 pads]

@ Kate - Yes please, I'll run.

@ RR - My car has 11.5cm splitter to floor clearance and ran fine, if that helps?

I might be able to make it, but nothing's changed on the car since I bought it.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I'm going to make a few calls regarding my Revo settings tomorrow, so I'll be able to say whether I'll run on the RR in due course...

Care to elaborate??

Without meaning to spam this thread...

Just been exchanging a few PM's with Carl from Revo on the other forum, and he thinks that my boost should be able to be plugged up much higher than 6, and my fuel could go from 8 (currently) to 9, without inducing any form of fuel cut. However this is contrary to what Keith at JKM found.

Not saying either party is wrong but I just want to get to the bottom of it really, whilst also working within the limits of the engine components!
