Is the linear map a freebie or is there a charge? I'm thinking it should help the mpg with better throttle modulation

Finally got around to fitting a different climate panel today. The climate works fine for about 1 hour, then it all locks up.... all the flaps close and no air comes out of the vents.

Testing... before all the cheap plastic trim goes back on!

Wont know if its worked until i do another long journey....  :indifferent:

How comes you didn't go for a MK6 one? I'm not a fan of it but most people would have taken this opportunity to upgrade.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I would have to upgrade to the RNS510 too...

And I believe you have to remove half of the dash to replace something else too...

Only just realised that I've have my car just over 2 years now. I was only going to keep it a year and then get another diesel... but I cant part with it.... its too much fun!

In those 2 years it has never broken down (with the exception of a flat tyre, and a slight misfire due to old plugs)...... and i see no real reason to part with it, other than stupid petrol costs.

Another 2 years maybe??  :driver:

I reckon so mate. Don't see the need to change as often as some. I had my mk4 for 6 years and bought a 5 door due to planning ahead with the intention of keeping it. If you happy with it them I'd keep it  :happy2:

It's what would you replace it with... What gives you the practicality, fuel consumption for the performance, style, agility for the same money?

I feel similar. Initially bought the car on PCP with the plan to change to the latest GTI every three years but saw what the MK6 looked like and loved my car too much to want to change.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Exactly.... theres not many out there that can do what it does for the same cost, which to me is nothing as the car was bought outright 2 years ago.

Id swap it for a 335d but they are a bit pricey at the moment and insurance on them is a killer!
