Are those brakes the R8 rear setup?

Chungster has answered the last question with regards to the brakes an yes they are the rear setup from an r8. In my opinion so far they are an excellent setup combined with the s3 rear setup. Tony what tyres are you using at the moment then? Cheers for all the advice aswell.

geordie you may struggle getting tds in a rocco friendly offset of 35-41 as they are rare rocking horse all be it revo have knocking them out at a good price

i've been on the hunt for some R1Rs and they don't do them in the rocco standard size for 18s of 235/40/r18 you'll have to drop to 225/40/R18, you lose about 8mm on overall diameter

I have been looking at the r1r's and as you say I will have to drop to 225 but I don't honestly see this being a major issue do you? I've seen a few companies with the td's in stock just gonna ring tommorow and see if they have a 35 offset and in anthracite, fingers crossed. Has anyonenseen or heard much of the federal track tyre been getting good reviews as far as I can see, and they come in 235. Has anyone got any comparison of these compared to the r1r and the r888? The brakes aren't that gleaming now to be honest but hey ho! Has anyone swapped out there pads, oil or brake fluid prior to a track day?

The 135i is on spazflats at the moment - there'll not be much left of them when I'm done hopefully!!

Usually run Dunlop DZ03G or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, I prefer the latter, but they're not easy to come by. The Federals are by all accounts an excellent buy and an official tyre in a few race series, Kumho V70A, Yoko A048s and Hankook RS2s are all very good too.

See what you can find, all the above will serve you very well indeed.
Sideways yo!

I have spoken with revo and a few others today regarding the Team dynamic 1.3  in 18x8.5 and I can get hold of the 1.3 TDs , but it's a wait of 3 weeks. They have said the same that I will have to drop to a 225 as they don't do a 235 in r1r tyres, can anyone see this being a problem. Also they said that it may stick out a bit far from the arch, as they have tried a few, however I have vmr on a 35 offset at the minute and they are fine don't stick out at all, so am I right in assuming that the TD should not stick out being of the same offset? Cheers guys. I could do with knowing as I will hopefully be ordering these tommorow.

How wide are the VMR?

I've got 245s on the back of mine and they're 8.5J - they look a little stretched, 225s would be scene stretched and possibly a even bit dangerous on the limit.

Pick up a set of scruffy standard Rocco wheels, rattle can them black and just enjoy it - as nice as a few kilos savings are, this sounds like too much hard work.

geordie i've replied to pm, in my view drive the car as is see how you get on and accept you are 5s a lap slower but having a ball and not shelled out £1,400, biggest limiting factor on my car is my lack of talent and stock dampers (which are now in the loft thank god)

Exactly, it's just about having fun.

Every spare set of wheels I've ever had have been 2nd hand, so I sell the for what I paid for them. Tyres I scour ebay and classifieds for, paying full whack is daft when all it requires is effort to find some new/part worns for half the price.

Then again, I ride kerbs and have been known to chuck it in the litter, so chipping or scratching shiny new ones would be even worse - best to save it for something you couldn't care less about.
Sideways yo!

Just don't wanna damage my nice vmr's and wanna have decent tyres still, what if I went with TD 1.2 and federal rsr's could get these for around 900. Or I have been toying With the idea of a Quaife LSD from vw racing for quite some months would I just be better getting this for now and see how I go on with my wheels and tyres as is? Cheers for all the help btw.
