Finally got around to buying the part and now the whole photobucket thing has screwed me. Anyone know where I can find a diagram or any helpful pics?

Several years since the last post, I've just fixed this seat sliding problem on my Golf. Those plastic cable guides are quite a lot more expensive now but it's great to have people getting into the back seat easily again.

Many thanks for a brilliant write-up.

On our golf GTi Mk 5 some pins that click into the rail to set the seat at the preferred position seem to have gone, so the seat can move say 6 inches backwards then 6 inch forward, I.e. it’s not locking into a fixed position. Somebody said those pins or whatever are now not available. Is there a fix? The local garage has swopped the ’pins’ from the passenger seat to the drivers seat so it could pass its mot. The passenger seat is now fixed in position. Is there a diagram showing these parts, maybe a source of these parts new or second hand? I’d like to fix it, if possible.
