However i would advise ensuring you have a spare can in the boot. They are planning to strike 4 days on 2 off and 4 days back on again.

All the lads in work with C+E and HAZMAT are all being trained this week and deploying around the country to various sites to drive tankers. However if for some reason they blockade or the tankers can't keep up then they reckon the length of the strikes will empty the pumps at around 95% of the country's fuel stations.

The thing that annoys me is they are not striking because of the fuel price. They are striking over their pay & conditions. Another forum i frequent a blokes father is a Tanker driver for Shell and he takes home £56.5k a year on a standard 14 shifts a month year.  :fighting: :fighting:

I understand they need danger pay as they are in effect driving a huge bomb around. But £56k a is rediculous.

Not sure about how fast it loses octanes, i recall reading something that said about a week but could be plucking that from my arse. I have however had full tanks worth of fuel in jerry cans for nearly a month and i never noticed any problems/had any issues with it when i used it.

I watched this on Sky earlier and they were quoting a Tanker Driver as saying the Army won't be able to manage it and that the job was much more difficult that it looks.  Hmm, ok.

Not sure what planet he was on but these boys drive fcuking big trucks around Afghan etc so I don't think the M6 with a tanker full of V Power will be a cause for concern.

We got the same story when the Fire Strike was on, we managed it.  The biggest balls up there was not going into the stations and taking the proper appliances instead of using the retired stuff.
