R32 xenon headlights
« on: August 17, 2012, 04:04:14 pm »
So I have an edition 30, I'm the second owner but the previous owner did not take up the option of the xenon headlights so I have the stock halogen lights, so what I'd like to know is if I bought some second hand r32 xenon headlights would they fit straight into my car and work as normal?

I am a bit of a noob so any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

As far as i know you'd need to get some adapters as they use different plugs to connect to the car for halogens and xenons, kufatec looms/adapters seem to be the favourite choice on here, only know as i'm looking to maybe do this to my car in the near future  :happy2:

I did exactly this to my Edition30 and it's the best thing i've ever done,it transform's the look of the car as well as giving you the quality xenon light,it's as Little_dave say's Kufatec loom's,the Xenon's of course and somebody with vagcom to code them in! :happy2:

.
If you have Xenons don't you also have to have washers to get through MOT?

I think as of this/next year they are tightening up on the auto-levelling/wash rules so I'd save yourself a headache and do the lot.. Obviously the first concern being oncoming traffic getting blinded!

Only blinded by people not setting the beam pattern properly, the oem xenon's once setup are perfect, people putting in HID kit's in halogen housing's are the one's with the light beam scattered all over the place and are a danger to other driver's!

Only if the auto leveller's and washer's were fitted from factory they have to work,if not fitted they check the beam height and pattern and if that's ok they pass! :happy2:

They may be just for the housing's and may not contain the ballast's and igniter's,check before you buy.
