As above... I would ask for a detailed brakedown of whats included... He may only do visual inspections  :happy2:

Basically just ensure you know exactly what he is going to do / change & with what parts. VW or 'like for like' parts.

He does a lot of work for my bros garage and we know each other enough to have a chat so that's why I wanna use him, one thing I do know is that he only uses genuine parts. What should be done on my 10k? In June last year I did a major service changing everything.

I take it the car isnt on 10,000 miles? Its just on a short life service cycle? so every 10,000 miles?

You should expect:-

Oil & oil filter change
Pollen Filter Change
A good visual inspection of the car - Tyres, brakes, suspention,
Service light reset (of corse)
Book stamped

You could also ask for fuel filter change at added cost.

All of the above should sit around £125 - £175. With main dealer slightly above the top end price with less replacement parts ( as usual )

Perfect, Seems cheap IMO. My service was quotes at £147 but that did include a fuel filter & change. Cant imagine its that expensive....but with mates rates  Looks as if you have a good deal !  :happy2:
