You're so right about sound, Mat. A close mate of mine (famous musician) came round last night and we got into a long deep chat about how we are all effected by sound and its quality - Not just in music and language, but any and every sound. Naturally I brought into our conversation the responses people have to exhaust sounds.

Bottom line is that sounds are energy vibrations which resonate positively or negatively with each of us. Furthermore, each of us has slightly different abilities to hear sound in its entire range.

And no! We both gave up the wacky baccy several decades ago!!

Much as I love both the APR and Blueflame sound on the GTI, my latest Milltek version suits me better (until I hear the slightly louder one when it's ready).

It's an individual thing :drinking:

P.S. - I'd love to hear your Blueflame from inside your car one day, Mat :happy2:

My non-res Milltek was fine on the standard DP, but with a 3" decat it is now stupid loud.

Around town and cruising on the motorway it's pleasant, thankfully, but as soon as you give it some it goes from a boom, to a howl, to a scream. Completely takes over the cabin, you can't hear music or speech. It also pops and bangs on DSG changes and overrun like a WRC car.

Thing is, I can't seem to get around to buying a resonated centre section
Sideways yo!

doesnt cohiba run an APR system too ?

Yes, he does. :happy2:

Both systems sound great and look great and once run in, The APR one is a little louder than the Milly.

If I was in the market for a full system now, I would probably take a punt at the Blueflame one.

Anyone have experience on these on the Ed 30?

I want to keep it quiet as possible on the inside for the missus. A boomy exhaust is not what I'm looking for.

....The only way to decide is for you and possibly your missus to listen in some actual cars with the different exhausts.

Us lot can tell you what we think but it's really a very subjective decision.

[Phew! Are we back on topic?]

I know you're trying to be helpful, Hurdy, but unfortunately 99.9% of vid sound clips don't do any exhaust sounds justice. I wish it was otherwise but drive-by's are usually better and we always need to know how an exhaust sounds inside the car over a reasonable distance and at a variety of speeds.

[That is, of course, in my not so humble opinion :happy2:]
