Why is MPG sooo low ???

Afternoon all,
Does anyone have this same problem?? I have a 56 plate gti dsg. On a full tank I get roughly 240miles to a full tank, a mate of mine has the exact same car but on a 07 plate and he's getting round 320miles to a full tank.
I've had a full service done, changed all the filters etc.
Doin my head in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Def check your DV, that will have an effect if it's torn. Cold weather does tend to hammer your MPG too, especially if you're not doing any long journeys.
