Good job its Jonnys car to sell then  :happy2:

Usually its easer to sell a car the more "one off" it is (as long as its not barry boys one off) so im not really surprised its gone pretty quick!, my Audi A3 i used to have had 4 people waiting for me to sell it.... then when i said i wanted to sell it, it was sold within 4 days!

My old Suprrcharged Civic sold the day I put it up for sale, The S3 (the first time round) went up on the Thursday and left the Sunday.. The second time round it was never up for sale, I was offered money from 4 different people just based on the build thread.. And the Golf I had 3 offers within a couple of hours of it being up for sale.. Either I'm lucky or like you say if you do it right then it's easy..

Either way I'm really happy with the new owner, he seems a great guy and fully appriciates the work that has gone into the car! I know it sounds daft but after putting so much effort into something I want to feel like it will be looked after to the level of which it deserves..

Yea like you say, the build thread speaks for itself... people can see that corners haven't been cut!
If its the person that i think has got it, it has gone into good hands.... good to hear hes going to carry on the development too...

....Doesn't sound daft to me (but some will say I'm daft anyway). Although a car is just a machine, when you have put effort into customising/modding it and you are very pleased with what those mods add to the joy of driving that car, it develops an individual personality. You look after it and it looks after you. You feel 'at one' with it. It's almost spiritual.

I'm glad that this forum has like minded people, I'm fed up of explaining to those who don't get it!! "Those who ask will never understand..."

Goddammit!!!

I spent the last four hours (insomnia) reading this thread start to finish only to find jonnyc's sold the car!!! :fighting2: It's like boning the girl of your dreams but not getting a 'crisis'!

Anyway this thread has been an immense journey. Started off quick paced but steady until around page 70-something, after which it just went exponential! Would have been great to have seen some figures, some video and even see it in real life. A one-of-a-kind car.

What are you getting next and where's the build thread?
PS what was the insurance like on the car?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

It's nightshifts that screw me up. Takes me a good 3 days to get back to normal but they only give us two...
