on October 06, 2025, 04:23:50 pm
Maybe for somebody who’s Looking for a GTI

I don’t know how this works but a YouTuber “Saving Salvage”
is giving a GTI away on “Compete for cars”
Looks like it has been in a timecapsule…
Don’t shoot me of how this “Compete stuff” is working😅
Hopefully sombody can be the owner of this nice & clean example 😎👍🏻

For some reason I can’t upload a screenshot of it on here now?!?🙄
Go check it out on YouTube…

Evening all and HNY to everyone.

I'#039ve today put a deposit down on a 3dr, manual, Edition 30 in black. Should be picking it up later this month. Although its my first VW, previous cars include a Fabia VRS and a Seat Leon Cupra 300 carbon.

Initial thoughts are to replace the stereo screen to something more modern and android/apple compatible, refurbishment of t

Hey, thanks for the tip. I have a slightly different HVAC control scheme, but I tried to replicate what they did here. It didn'#039t seem to do anything immediately but a couple hours later I started the car up again and the blower began working.

I'#039ll update this thread later if I ever figure out what caused it and what actually got it fixed, but I can'#039t rule out the flap

Evening All,

I am currently doing an underside refresh on a mk5 R32. The car came to me fitted with VW Racing / Racingline 6 pot calipers and 354mm 2 piece discs.

I have just reinstalled the front subframe with poly bushes, an updated arb and TT aluminium wishbones. When bolting things up earlier today I found that the ball joints now rub against the disc and

Merry Christmas!
The car is now 18+ years old, but the mods will not stop here :).
Even if I consider I'#039ve done a lot to the car, there still are things I can improve on...

First of all, the driving position... I am a bit too high in the seats and the steering wheel is a bit too far away. For the seat height problem I am in the process of finding a solution, b

Re: Random Low Oil Pressure warning
Last Poster: Gustave in Mk5 General Area on December 25, 2025, 06:50:31 am
A random low oil pressure warning means your engine isn't getting enough lubrication, often due to low oil, a failing pump, worn internal parts, or a bad sensor/connection, and you should stop driving and shut off the engine immediately to prevent severe damage, then check your oil level and call for a tow if needed.

1. I have joined together pin2 and pin4 passenger on heat seat connector on the passenger side. I have used new wire and put in pin2 and crimped with pin4 together using "quotU"quot type terminal between seat and female connecto

Did you carbon clean the valves when the manifold was off?

Did you change all the injector seals also as they are one time use.

So as some may know I have been battling this issue for quite a while now.
The car is running a stage 1 tune for around 2 years. And before someone goes in the direction that something is wrong with the tune. I already tried 5 different ones. With the same results.
Short story. Have a new pcv, dv, maf, turbo (oem) and checked for boost leaks. Only thing I haven'#039t chang

Added a 10"quot screen for Android Auto and reverse camera, and a maglock phone charger to the car as I prefer the OE DAB headunit. nbsp All works well

Re: What is the best engine oil to use on Mk5 GTI - standard car no mods
Last Poster: dennis10 in Mk5 General Area on December 15, 2025, 10:33:03 am
I've used Millers Motorsport 5w40 CFS NT+ in my Edition30 since I bought it 18months ago.  2 oil changes so far, she runs sweet as a nut and doesn't use any oil in between changes.

My recent 90 mile trip to Portsmouth to have my headlining replaced saw me net a lovely 40.1mpg over the whole journey!

    £80.00
    Location: Manchester
    Collection Only

For Sale is my old Pearl Black Edition 30 rear valance. This clips into the upper section of your rear bumper.
This was removed from my golf due someone backing into me at low speed causing surface cracks. (they offered to pay for a new valance)

The surface cracks are around the the number plate area which I've tried to photo the best i can.

The exhaust surround has been bonded back on by the body shop after an encounter with a high kerb a few years ago.

There are storage scratches on the paintwork so will need respraying. You will also need a towing eye cover.

All clips to clip the valance upper bumper section are intact and there is no sign of warping.

This is a genuine valance and was fitted to my ED30 from the factory.
