You could try one of these.
https://ebay.us/m/28EL6S
If not I think it's a case of cutting it off, I never like messing too much with wiper motors that go through glass I always have visions of it smashing.

Funnily enough, that's exactly what I ended up buying.
The bigger puller did get the arm off, but the arm broke it as it was so seized...new arm ordered and now fitted.
The smaller puller was then invaluable as I had to reposition the new arm a couple of times to get it into the correct place and it goes on rock solid each time!

Mk5 General Area / Few issues with my Mk5 GTI
« Last post by Tomandrew10 on February 09, 2026, 10:04:45 pm »
Hi all,
I recently bought a 55 plate gti it was certainly in the cheaper end of the market but over all it seems to be in good condition and drives very well for its age. The only issues I’m having are problem with cold starting in which when the revs drop below 1k it will run very rough for a minute or so then it runs fine, there is a p0171 code which pointed me towards an air/fuel issue so I cleaned the maf sensor which seems to have made a small difference is there any way of testing the maf sensor without having another one to try? There is also an evap fault code which seems to be tied in with the lean running issue.

The other issue I have is only the drivers door locks with the key all the other doors don’t lock the actuators seems to try and lock but they don’t work, all the door locks seem to be faulting but it seems a bit odd that they would all go. Is there any other reason why this would happen or anything to test the actuators?

Thanks in advance please let me know if there is any more information needed.
Tom

Mk5 General Area / Re: BOV- Bad for car?
« Last post by ZoliWorks on February 09, 2026, 01:02:02 pm »
If you want some noise from it, stick an aftermarket intake, k04 dv relocation kit, a rev G dv and get it mapped. If mapped, you can use a DV+ if k03, rev G if k04. DV+ cant really deal with the pressure a K04 works with and will throw CEL

Also noise depends on the pressure the map demands of it.

First video was recorded with a k04 with a dv+ and 1.55 bar peak pressure. 2nd video is 1.45 bar peak and a rev G. The noise is still there just not as continuous. I have to be under WOT for it to happen. Also this was recorded when my downpipe-muffler buckle came apart so i was basically running a catless straight pipe

Mk5 General Area / Balance Shaft Delete - Vibrations?
« Last post by mk48972 on February 09, 2026, 12:21:03 pm »
Hi all,

I'm thinking about ordering a VIS Motorsport BSD kit. My car (2008 Mk5 GTI BWA) has done almost 240k km, and I've heard a lot of horror stories about the balance shaft seizing and snapping the chain, resulting in a loss of oil pressure.

I have a question for people who already have a BSD kit installed on their Mk5 GTI: did installing the kit introduce (a lot of) vibration? The car is my daily driver, so I'm okay with engine vibrations increasing a little, but it shouldn't be too drastic.

My engine mounts are fairly new (replaced 3 years ago, OEM).

Thanks in advance!

Yes wireless CarPlay plus there’s a usb cable with a female socket on it hard wired into the back which can reach the glove box so can extend a cable out from there.
Matt74  Do you have a shop link for 648 please  Found them for sale in Germany but not the UK :happy2:

Because the car runs a MAF sensor based fuelling system, any unmetered air from an atmospheric BOV will upset the fuelling, could cause lumpy running and stalling.
