Raz I'm not sure of the competitor but there are less than five companies in the country doing this kind of repair.

Now we know the problem thanks to you I'd give it a go myself hoping never need to but it's with all electrics and I've read up on this when I purchased my car thay it's a simple job if you know how too.

Yes as long as you can remove the ECU unit from the gearbox, then open it up (bearing in mind that you must seal it back up) and are handy with a soldering iron then it is quite straightforward - a lot easier with the magnifying glass screen set up!!

Touch wood I don't have to do this but if I do ever go down this route then thank you for the extra info :drinking:
