air intake kit

i put this kit onto my car today see photo [/URL][/img] i was hoping that someone can tell me its all looking like fitted properly. also if i should just remove the black box at front of filter that sends pipe into original filter box and sits above the rad by looks of it forget to say its the golf mk5 tdi se 1.9  :laugh:

I've got similar looking kit on my MK5 GTI.



There is small "rubber hole" in the intake pipe... what is that for? Should this be connected to anything? I have blanked mine off  :happy2:

It's an intake and that's all that really matters. I've used cheap £15 jobs in the day and they work lol  :scared1:

Hi Bumba,  im not sure what pipe your actually referring to as mines petrol and don't do diesels.

I've never understood the purpose of these kits. You're replacing the standard system that pulled through cold air and replacing it with something that gets warmer air. Can anyone explain the point of these?

Isn't the idea that you remove the panel filter in the box & the cone had higher flow ?

Looks more suited to the TSI or diesel engines. Utterly pointless on a TFSI engine as pictured in the OP.

Get a proper intake
