Need a second opinion in Berkshire. Fuel line noise?
« on: May 30, 2017, 10:27:58 am »
Anyone around in Berkshire area that's had the fuel line rattle (or know what it sounds like) free for a quick listen to mine. Started making this crap rattling noise this morning when at idle but goes as soon as I touch the throttle. Can only hear it inside the car and does it warm or cold.

Installed hpfp last night so trying to rule that out as took my time to make sure I did it correctly.

Cheers
Alex

If it's a tapping from the floor by the throttle pedal, that's definitely fuel line rattle.

Have someone tug on the fuel lines in the engine bay (where the pass down into the chassis rail behind the coolant reservoir) and see if the noise goes.

It's the fuel lines. Noise goes when I wiggle the fuel lines feeding down towards the footwell where they run under the car.

Cheers pudding  :happy2:

Sweet, that's an easy fix then

I used some of that grey pipe lagging from B&Q to pad the fuel line area out with, worked a treat!
