Installing hid
« on: September 20, 2018, 03:47:34 PM »
Hi all

Quick question regarding HID kits or led bulbs
The twist and set position is not possible on either of these how do you fit the bulbs in place

I know the normal Mk5 has the clip with spring on the headlight bulb fitment so it stays in place so how do you get around this with the GTi headlights

Thanks

Take the holder off (black bit arrowed on the pic) mine was silver
Install that first and place the spring clamp thing to hold it on
Then just push in the led and wire up

Sorry to ask a silly question.
How do you wire these up?

I’ve just bought some depo lights and would like to use these, but can’t work it out

Thanks

Ollie

I get the idea.
But.....

This is what I’ve spent my money on and was liking to try with the Depo light I’ve bought after positive comments from people who used them.

In all seriousness some help from anyone who’s done this would be much appreciated

Ollie

I installed them for a friend who bought depos

You need to get H7 led and they should fit. Put up a pic or link of the ones you got

I also installed leds for my high beam on my oem xenons and they work a treat

Something like this:
