If the car is pre 2007, you most likely have the old wiring, which is not compatible with folding mirrors as far as I know. You'll need the entire door harness from a 2007+ car plus check if you need to do anything with the plug that runs between the door and body.

Lemme rephrase it then. If your car is pre 2007 and you're trying to fit post 2007 power folding mirrors with post 2007 window controllers, it wont work because the wiring is different. You need pre 2007 door controllers for pre 2007 cars and post 2007 controllers for post 2007 cars or swap the wiring around. Among a few other things, doors were the biggest overhaul of this wiring update.

Here's a list of all door controllers and what they are. I dont remember which PN is pre or post 2007 anymore since it's been a while since I worked with them but I dont think they did any gen 1's and 2's post 2007. Gen 2 high should be pre 2007 and support power folding.

These are gen3 post 2007 modules that support power folding, underlights, reverse dip and mirror tinting. I tried fitting them to my pre 2007 car and while I could connect VCDS onto them, it wasnt working very well. They worked fine in my post 2007 car tho.

Also dont be fooled by "Oh these modules are from a 2 door car so they wont work on a 4 door". You can literally code them in VCDS for that.
